Works drawn by code from a seed — printed as numbered editions on cotton rag, or drawn in ink by a pen plotter. The same seed always draws the same picture; no two seeds draw the same one.

Three series, one palette: salt, ochre and a sea-grey. Each print is a single seed of its program, signed and numbered in an edition of 25.

Every piece starts as a short program and a number. The program is the style — a flow of strokes, a contour map, a field of colour — and the number, the seed, chooses one picture out of billions. I run seeds until one stops me, then that seed becomes the work.
Prints are made on 308 gsm cotton rag with archival pigment inks. Plotter drawings are drawn once, in ink, by a machine following the lines the program wrote, and never repeated.
Tell me which piece — or what you would like drawn — and where it will hang. I answer every message myself, usually within two days.
